First session of University exams are over. Yay. Though I feel as though I’ve been more busy now than I ever was during first semester as a result of my own side projects…
In my pursuit of high-er image quality on an everyday carry-able compact that’s not a phone, I sat down and did some micro-four-thirds research. The Sony NEX-5N had always been in my mind, but after some genuine reassurance from my own research, the 5N seemed best for me, and so I paired it with a Sigma 19mm F/2.8, going for an everyday-use pancake set-up. Would have liked the Zeiss 24mm F/1.8, but there’s a $1000+ price difference between the two…
I’ve been spending a lot of time re-designing my blog for a re-launch. with significant refinements in progress. (Been wanting to for over six months now) And the NEX-5N is a part of this refinement. I’ve only had it for a week now, but so far I’m impressed with it’s compactness, and above all, it’s image quality. (Above is just me shutter spamming at my reflections at the Tron-like escalators in Westfield Pitt Street, Sydney) Hoping to use it everyday.
If I was using an iPhone, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S III, or the Nokia Pureview 808, I’d probably wouldn’t have bought the NEX if their image quality was “good enough” which I’ve seen to be rather impressive. But alas, I’m on a transition smart-phone with terrible-hideous-horrible camera right now while I wait for Windows Phone 8 hardware to be released. (Nokia Pureview Windows Phone please!) I had to purchase an unlock code to get my Dell Venue Pro going, as well as re-flash the ROM. (Not being a real computer nerd, using CMD is rare, and felt so cool!)
Mami-san also arrived this month. Godoka pre-ordered too.
Yay.
