These ‘holdiays’ or ‘breaks’ are supposed to be relaxing right? Well… I’m incredibly tired at the moment… I’d say it’s because I’ve been doing too many things/going out too much, but I’d imagine there are quite a few of you out there who have done a lot more than I have and probably still have a lot more energy than I do.
First of all, Happy New Year everyone! Hope 2011 is just as awesome or even better than 2010 for you! I certainly hope so!
Today also marks the first year gochisou-deshita.net has been online! Which, I’m rather proud of, and I look forward to continue blogging throughout 2011 and hopefully, even the next few years! A big thanks to everyone who has read and visited my blog throughout the year! Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to announce some rather surprising (to me) numbers!
:: Blog Stats
Total number of hits – 6568
Total number of posts – 176
Most viewed page – SMASH! – Anime and Manga Convention – 2010 with 651 views. (10% of my total blog hits?!)
I originally planned on celebrating by creating some fun New Years image and a new, better looking layout, but unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to do so. Though, you should expect a change in layout within the coming days. =D
Once again, Thanks for reading and I hope to see you all throughout 2011 and beyond!
So, start of the Summer Holidays for me, and I’ve loaded myself with tasks and events already?
Sorry for the lack of updates or posts as of late. It’s been Christmas and so my good employer has been giving me lots of time at work, I still haven’t cleaned-up my room, not much Anime watching sadly, and generally unproductive in terms of productivity? (Except for work that is…)

I’ve been working on getting another (yes, another) site layout done… There’s a lot to do, and I seriously don’t think I can get it up and running by the start of the New Year, but we shall see how that goes… I’ve been going out to the City quite a bit these holdiays so far, some by myself, some with friends… Never actually ended up buying anything substantial…
I’ve seen Tron. -twas alright.
Other than that, my Christmas was pretty mediocre. (My family doesn’t really do Christmas =P)
Will be hanging out with some of my friends on NYE. Nothing wild. Just a hopefully tame movie marathon thingy.

I got my Bamboo! =D Dell Venue Pro‘s are out in the wild! Now where’s mine?
My mobile telco, Vodafone’s getting it’s guts sewed…? Okay, well… customers, (including me) haven’t been very happy with their service recently… I’d say it has to do with a sudden increase in traffic due to their buyout of 3 and their new “infinite” plans… And so now people are suing them…
To think it’s the end of the year already… School’s out for 6 weeks, which you’d imagine to be plenty of time to get side projects that are otherwise interrupted by school completed but… not really…
Anyway, so just a quick post about my “Operation Clean-up” for the end of 2010 in preparation for 2011. There are a few other clean-up operations I need to do, which include clearing-up my limited hard-drive space, and getting much of this website cleaned up… But that’ll be done later. =P
November was an unusually dry month… and by dry, I mean, lacking interesting content rather than unseasonal… In fact, we’ve actually had quite a bit of rain… But yeah, so this goanna water dragon payed a visit to our school earlier in November…

I’m supposed to be writing a speak for English, but I am so not in the mood. Eveything just seems… worthless…. Yeah, I know, this sounds like some teen-emo-rant thingy but really. I hate this world. For some reason, more today than for a long time. Though, none of this emo-talk is due to some bad argument with my parents, or whatever normally makes people depressed/emo… I do have all my upcoming exams and assignments, as well as not getting much sleep last night. (By that, I mean 4 hours. Which I cannot live on), but they’re not the reasons either. Believe it or not… it’s all thanks to some Anime and fanfics…

This is bad. This is really bad.
As some of you may know, the Nanoha Movie has just been released on DVD and Blu-ray. It reignited my mild-ish Nanoha obsession, to the point where I think things are getting a little out of hand… Although I’m restraining myself not to see it till early January so that I can watch it with my friends, I’m finding I need to get quick doses of Nanoha without having to re-watch the series.
Now, I love Nanoha. And I love Fate. I also love Nanoha and Fate. In fact. The “Nanofate” ‘couple’… is my favourite Anime pairing… Which lead me to the wonderfully insightful Nanofate.us, a group dedicated to the pairing, and a fansite containing many translated doujins, as well as providing a large-ish dedicated image board, and fanfics. And recently, I became very attached to a fanfic by ‘Satashi‘ titled: “Saved by the Bell“.
I love how it’s an alternative story-line. The young-adult years, in a world where they aren’t searching for Lost Logia, or “Mahou Shoujo” for that matter. Some things kind of shocked me at first, (mainly Precia) but it’s very cute and sweet. (Makes me all warm and fluffy inside. XD) I’m only up to chapter 12 right now, and I don’t like some of the decisions that Nanoha’s making, but it can’t be helped. (Then it wouldn’t be as interesting I guess)
:aww:

I’m still waiting for the Dell Venue Pro. After playing around with a Samsung Omnia 7, I definitely want the Venue Pro. It’s basically the same thing except the Venue Pro has a slider portrait QWERTY, which I don’t necessarily need, and if the Venue Pro doesn’t come out in December, the Omnia may be my option.
Speaking of which, when I was playing with the Omnia at an Optus store, some Indians come in, (not meaning to be offensive or anything) see the Nokia N8 and start yelling loudly in excitement. They start playing around with it, trying to find the camera app, while saying how good it is. Meanwhile, I’m playing with an Omnia 7, whizzing through zune, camera, photos, people etc. And by the time I’m finish…ed. They were still trying to find the camera app… Fail.
In my search for a laptop, I believe I’ve narrowed it down to two: HP Envy 14, and Asus U43JC Bamboo… Not sure which one, am leaning towards the Asus for a number of reasons, but the Envy definitely still has a lot of pull for me.
I find the PV for the Bamboo to be much nicer than the Envy’s…
Anyway, that’s a quick-ish wrap for me… I need to get back to English…
It’s been an interesting and fun week with lots of arrivals and had some outings which have been rather interesting… I would have loved to have taken a lot more photos which were more meaningful and representative of the somewhat awesome week I/we have had.
Unfortunately, there really hasn’t been anything eventful ever since the end of the Holidays. I have been loaded with a lot of maths homework, and it has been rather annoying. I feel incredibly envious of those who have just completed their HSC… Can’t wait for mine to be over!

Phew… New term at school, incredibly busy, lots of work being done, organisation and catch-up. Despite getting a lowly 34% for my Prelim Exam for 3 Unit Maths, I’m having a go at doing 4 Units of Maths for my HSC… Which should be interesting… First lesson was simple enough, learning about “Complex Numbers” and “Iota” which, frankly, are magical concepts to me… Why didn’t they just teach us this back when we were in primary school? We were so much more gullible back then, we would have stuck with the idea and 4 unit maths would probably be so much easier than what it’s made out to be at the moment. XD
The results of my other tests weren’t very good for my standards… Generally hovering around the course average for all my subjects, which is somewhat worrying if I want to get an ATAR of 96 to get into Architecture in Uni…
Considering joining the Formal Committee after being nagged by the current members, (though particularly Shannon and Janice…) Am in talks with Leon about whether we want to join/plan to strike some form of deal. However, Leon and I have written ourselves down for the Yearbook Committee, which should be interesting…

Should be receiving confirmation e-mail for a ‘ready order’ for my Nanoha and Angel Beats Nendoroids as Leon’s release has been delayed to late December… O_o
:: Technology/Gadget Related Windows Phone 7 has officially been launched and I am SO EXCITED!!! The land down under will be one of the first to officially get WP7 on October 21 with the release of the HTC Mozart, HTC Trophy, and the Samsung Omnia 7, being released on Telstra, Vodafone and Optus respectively.
Though, I’m super-eager to get my hands on a Dell Venue Pro, originally known as “Lightning” back when Engadget leaked the details in April. Sadly, there’s no official release date for it anywhere at the moment, and the only carrier details are that it’ll be on T-Mobile in America.
My Shure SE420 Earphones (that I got in exchange for a continually breaking pair of Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Extended Bass Earphones) have been sent in to get a frequency response check after the lack of bass in them finally led me to ask if there was a possible fault with my earphones… Will see how that goes.
Geoff ordered a pair of Alessandro MS-1 Headphones through me (taking advantage of the falling US Dollar), and they arrived yesterday. I managed to give them a test run and take a few photos of them before he came by to take them away, and I was rather impressed with how they sounded out of the box. I’ll do a more formal write up a little later.
