Sydney’s Annual “SMASH!’ is one of few anime conventions held here in Australia. After selling out in after moving to a bigger venue last year, this year, SMASH! moved again, this time to the Sydney Convention Centre in Darling Harbour. Here’s my quick write up and some photos from my SMASH!-ing experience.
Phew… The past month has been so slow yet so long… School is such a strain and it’s holding me back from blogging… I received my half-yearly report to the dissatisfaction of my parents, (not surprised) and I really do need to pick my game for a good education if I’m to get anywhere in my future life right? But that hasn’t really stopped me from going out and about recently, which you will find, is mostly about food. =P (What you see above is a Tuna Tataki dish from “Kushiyaki Azuma” a fairly classy Japanese Restaurant tucked away in “Regents Place” behind the George Street Cinemas in Sydney.)
Wow… It’s been a month since I last made a post… The past few weeks have been loaded with exams (which despite more than usual study, has produced results that aren’t what I could/should be getting…) but now that they’re over, it’s time for the Autumn break! (Which, I’m already quickly approaching the half-way of…)
So, yesterday, my sister and I payed a visit to the temporary restaurant “Greenhouse by Joost”, a restaurant in Perth that focuses on sustainability, and minimizing waste. They’re currently doing a world tour, the first stop of which, was Sydney. Haven’t been able to blog all that much, being very busy with school work, namely an English essay, and a lot of maths being dumped on me by my most favourite maths teacher. =D
Yay! My local Japanese book store had Mizuki Nana’s biography “Shin Ai” in stock. 20% off too, so it only cost me $28. It’s a shame that I’m Japanese illiterate. Otherwise, I’d probably be up all night reading it… But I am watching coverage of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan ealier today… That’s some scary stuff. At this moment, 5 hours after the quake, the toll is only 39. That number can only rise.
Busy busy busy weeks… The last few days of January was a busy time for me, and the start of school marking the beginning of what is going to be an incredibly busy and stressful year.
These ‘holdiays’ or ‘breaks’ are supposed to be relaxing right? Well… I’m incredibly tired at the moment… I’d say it’s because I’ve been doing too many things/going out too much, but I’d imagine there are quite a few of you out there who have done a lot more than I have and probably still have a lot more energy than I do. To think it’s the end of the year already… School’s out for 6 weeks, which you’d imagine to be plenty of time to get side projects that are otherwise interrupted by school completed but… not really…
Anyway, so just a quick post about my “Operation Clean-up” for the end of 2010 in preparation for 2011. There are a few other clean-up operations I need to do, which include clearing-up my limited hard-drive space, and getting much of this website cleaned up… But that’ll be done later. =P
November was an unusually dry month… and by dry, I mean, lacking interesting content rather than unseasonal… In fact, we’ve actually had quite a bit of rain… But yeah, so this goanna water dragon payed a visit to our school earlier in November…
It’s been an interesting and fun week with lots of arrivals and had some outings which have been rather interesting… I would have loved to have taken a lot more photos which were more meaningful and representative of the somewhat awesome week I/we have had.   |
