Fate Testarossa… I like her name… Something about it has a nice kind of tone to it…
My first PVC figurine by ALTER. My friend Bevan already has two, and so I’m very much aware of ALTER’s amazing quality and designs. So, being one of my most loved characters, this “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha’s” “Fate Testarossa” was definitely on my “to order” list and after being delayed several times, she finally arrived in early February.
I did an initial Photoshoot a few days after arriving at Leon’s place, but wasn’t too happy with my results. So these are photos from a second photoshoot using a makeshift lightbox and some are open air with lights.
The title given to the figurine “PHANTOM MINDS” is from Mizuki Nana’s song of the same name, which featured as the OP for “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st”. Personally a great song and one of my favoutites.
As expected, A nice big box. Despite all the paper padding in the box, the box is slightly deformed but still intact. (Shipping was a little pricey though) No real damage to the box or figure to really complain about.
ALTER has done a great job capturing Fate’s power in this figure.
Below is a “spin” of her holding “Bardiche” in Scythe Form.
As always, ALTER pays great attention to detail. The pole of Bardiche is made from metal, and so are the poles that are used to display Fate and her different versions of Bardiche.

I am a huge fan of the base. (even though it’s plastic) Something about the language seemingly being impossible to understand and the fact that it’s a pretty magical circle. XD
Of course, the weapon can be changed, and as you can see, she now holds Bardiche in Grave form.
I find the Grave form much more impressive than Scythe, although it does mean that she takes substantially more space as it sticks out quite a bit.
I think that Grave form makes the figure look a lot more dynamic.
The stand gives her quite a bit of height.
I’m not sure if it was done on purpose or if I accidentally forced it off, but the charm on Fate’s glove appears to be removable?
Trying out different angles of light…
I am absolutely thrilled with the work ALTER has done with this figure, and the cost to ship her over was well worth it. As expected, it is a high quality figure, and the pose is simply awesome. I have no major issues with the paint job. (I somehow managed to smudge a little bit of black on her hair…?) Changing her weapons is pretty easy and I love the way her weapons can be displayed.
She is definitely a must have for any Fate fan, and she’ll be a great addition to my small army of Nanoha Nendoroids. XD
Now… How can I steal Bevan’s Nanoha -Stand by Ready- by ALTER figure…? (Hauu~! I cannot wait for ALTER’s release of Nanoha Uniform version!!!)
