I’ve found this Anime Music Video a while back after browsing Koopiskeva’s animemusicvideos,org profile, who if you remember made the Kanon AMV “Twilight”, that is still my favourite AMV. It is a multi-editor-project, that is well edited, and exceptionally well synced. Neither is it a long 30 minute video combining a whole lot of people’s works… It is an interesting combination of Anime choices, and “Mind Game” looks like some crazy put together series of awesome mindfuck… (Does that sentence make sense). A lot of great editors were chosen for this video, most of them highly respected and known among the Anime Music Video community.
I love how, as noted in the video’s description; “it IS ironic that most of the people in this MEP have never made an action video. Suck it.”
“testosteROS” is an action AMV that, unlike many, features no “Women. Money. Fame”. It’s a collaboration of general ‘real men action’, shall we say, and hence the name “testosteROS”, obviously from ‘testosterone’… Anyway, Pendulum’s “Granite” is all the more epic now, thanks to this AMV, and I love what they did for the credits at the end of the video, and the use of the intro of “Visions” which is also by Pendulum.
And so, as I continue to lack creativity/time to make myself an ‘epic’ AMV, I leave you with “testosteROS”! Enjoy my friends!

So, I’ve finally been able to get onto AmiAmi after for some reason, it wouldn’t load for me the past few days… I’m guessing A LOT of traffic for the site thanks to their special offer on international shipping. AS I was browsing round, I noticed that AmiAmi was accepting pre-orders for some costumes for the Nanoha series. (With thanks to the recent Nanoha Movie screenings in Japan) COSPA is selling both Nanoha and Fate Battle costumes which are both pretty nice in my opinion. The Fate costume comes with a “Leotard, Cape, Skirt, Belta and Gloves”, while Nanoha comes with a little more and includes a “neck plate, bische, arm armor, leg armor, jacket, brooch, cuff armor, skirt, gloves, crystal x 7 and Raising Heart”. So if you wanna look just like either Fate or Nanoha, now’s a great chance to get official cosplay costumes! So long as you have the money to afford them… AmiAmi/COSPA is asking quite a lot for them… Then add shipping charges… (I guess that’s why there’s SAL eh?)
Wow… End of Week Four already… One third of the way through Term One already… And I feel as though I’m falling behind a bit… Mainly because I haven’t done much work… Haha, like Maths… Not very paying attention either… And neither is my English… clearly… So … I need to kinda get back into working on my academics maybe? At least… Do my Food Tech Assignment right? Oh god Food Tech Theory is boring… Tediously writing intensive too… I guess that’s why Ethan was smart and dropped it… And to think it scales down incredibly badly if you don’t get a really good mark… So… I may very well drop it for Year 12. Engineering Studies is pretty much the only subject that doesn’t seem to understand at the moment… I believe that’s what most people in Engineering Studies feel the same way.
Meanwhile, my older sister just came back from a three week visit to America, and so I thought I’d take advantage of the better exchange rate. So, I was hoping that she could get me the newly released HP Touchsmart tm2 touchscreen convertible laptop… But I didn’t really expect her to actually buy it, and so, next on my wishlist was either the Zune HD or the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet. And, if you’ve probably seen me around school, you may know that I have an Archos 5 now, as my new shiny gadget. =D
I’ll be going into more depth about my thoughts about the Archos 5 in a later blog post…with some stable firmware for it… I remember on release, they had to temporarily stop accepting orders because the devices that were being distributed just kept on crashing… And when they released “Donut” (Android 1.6) it was a complete fail… I’ve been having a few gripes with it… Stuff I shall be trying to correct… I wish Archos would come out
Huzzah!!! It finally arrived/managed to get one! My Rika-chama figurine by WAVE had finally arrived! I am sooo happy!!! It took a fair while for me to find one available… I tried YesAsia but they were unable to stock me one, but it was awesome though, as I managed to find one on eBay for cheaper than what YesAsia was selling at. I had been waiting for one to be available at an alright price for a long while… I mean, placed into a serious matter, I’m a little disappointed that it costs 6500yen ($80) for a simple 18cm figurine… And with it being sold out at every online merchandise store I was even willing to pay $119US ($126AUD) for it… Though I was able to save $24AUD thanks to eBay (compared to YesAsia). So, now I have the Duo! Rika-chama and Hanyuu-chan! =D

I find I do like the Hanyuu one better. Rika’s facial expression is a little… weird? I’m still disappointed at most Higurashi merchandise released, and that these figures are really the only “high quality” figures for any Higurashi/Umineko… But I mean, considering their price, it just makes me love these more than I normally would!!! =D=D=D=D
I’m still yet to make a lightbox for myself to take better shots of my shinies! So, I’ll be doing a photoshoot later on hopefully!
I find that Anime Music Videos (AMVs) are a great way to find new anime, and earn a different perspective from anime that you may have already seen. Some are incredibly elaborate, while others are beautifully simple. Either way, AMVs are a form of art. Sure, one can easily pick out their favourite scenes from an Anime, mash it all together with their favourite song, upload to YouTube, and get thousands of views and be like, “Yeah, All my AMVs are popular and therefore I make good AMVs”. Which, is true to some extent. You do see the odd “carefully stitched together” AMV out there, but often you have to dig a bit, as often, they don’t have many views, and are that way because the artist doesn’t intend it to be “super popular”.
When you visit these “communities”, it’s amazing at what you can find out there. Some are WAY better than the crap you can find on YouTube (not saying there aren’t any good ones). The animemusicvideos.org Viewers Choice Awards are voted by fellow AMV makers, and recognise the best of the art that is Anime Music Videos for 2009. Here are just some of the winners:
Lost – The Final Season. Season Six of Lost is the last season, and probably the most anticipated, for the series that has captivated millions of loyal viewers around the world. I myself, enjoy Lost, and do think it is a great show. As the final season does air, I will be following it, and the opening episode for the season, was more captivating than I had hoped it was. It was another epic opening to what I believe has been a great series so-far, and I seriously can’t wait for everything to be revealed!
As notorious as Lost is for producing mind-f*cks, the openning episode continued that trend. The season began, on what is being referred to “a Parrnell timeline”. Oceanic 815 is in the air, and there was quite a bit of in-flight entertainment. It was great to see Charlie again, as well as Boone, and later on… even if it was a short time, Claire. Also on board, was Desmond? One of the many… interesting “links” onboard the flight, everything just before the moment the plane was supposed to crash, was exactly the same as it was in the Pilot. Desmond though… was not.
As we return to The Island, “The Incident” had just passed, and just like how they’ve been traveling through time, they’re back to their own timeline? Why? What happened after Juliet detonated the bomb? How are they back to the original timeline? What happened to the rest of the Dharma folk? Well forget about them for a sec, Sayid needs help, and so does Juliet, who as it turns out, is still alive… just… and inside the rubble and remains of The Hatch after Desmond had destroyed it. As they rescure Juliet, good ol’ Hugo talks to, the now dead, Jacob… (We only just saw him in last season’s finale and he’s already dead?) Jacob tells Hugo, that the only way to save Sayid, is to take him to The Temple…
Meanwhile, Sawyer finds Juliet, who eventually, dies, and Sawyer seeks revenge against Jack, blaming him for ruining their lives, after being happy in Dharmaville. They drive to the Temple, where they hope they can save Sayid… Within the walls of The Temple, they get captured, by… “the natives”? But there we find some characters who we had not seen since the first season… Some of the Tailies who were “abducted” are living there, such as the two children (Zach and Emma) and Cindy, the Flight attendant. They are questioned by… who appears to be “their leader”, Dogen, who appears to be Japanese. As he tells his people to kill them, Hurley is quick to say “Jacob sent us”… (Jacob appears to be the magic word…) They disarm, and are allowed into The Temple, where they attempt to heal Sayid. (Hehe, I feel proud, I could pretty much guess everything Dogen said in Japanese. =D)
Back with the original “Others”, and… well “Him” appears to be killing everyone… And is… Smokey??? They said many of our questions would be answered, but if anything, they’re asking even more than before! As “He” and Ben walk out of Jacob’s statue, Ilana and the rest raise their weapons at “Him”. Richard tells them not to shoot. As “He” walks up to Richard, “He” says something… interesting… “It’s good to see you without chains Richard”, and knocks him out. As “He” leaves, he carries Richard with him, and the rest can only stand and watch…
At the Temple, Sayid’s “healing” didn’t go so well… Hugo is brought in to see Dogen privately, where he tells Dogen that Jacob is dead. Dogen immediately reacts, and forces The Temple into what appears to be some form of “lockdown”. (Or… “Locke-down” Ahahahaha…) As the rest mourn Sayid and Juliet’s deaths, Jack is called to be spoken to, as Jack resists, something unexpected happens, and we see Sayid, awake and alive, asking “what happened?”
I couldn’t be happier with the opening episode! Many questions answered, but as always, many more raised. Who is “He”? Is he unable to enter an area surrounded by ash? Why is the Temple’s water “no longer clear”? There are so many more questions! As the final season, I cannot wait to have everything finally answered!
Moe Contests are serious business. And once again, it’s time to vote for which character should earn the heavenly tiara! International Saimoe League’s first Preliminary round has kicked off, and it’s time to vote for who you want to see have a shot at being crowned the “Queen of Moe”. Though it seems more like it’s a “favourite series” contest rather than an actual measure of a character’s “moe”-ness these days…
I did forget to congratulate last year’s winner, Katsura Hinagiku, for being crowned with the Tiara last year. She’s worked hard for it! And I wish her all the best for this year’s ISML, especially against the new powerhouse… K-ON!…
Akiyama Mio from K-ON! easily got the most nominations with 417 votes.
And to think that the next character to be nominated was Senjōgahara Hitagi from Bakemonogatari with 328. That’s an 89 vote gap!
But series such as Seitokai no Ichizon, K-ON! and Bakemonogatari easily got votes for nominations and we should see most of them move into the main tournament.
I’m glad to see too, that there is still love to be had from older series such as “Air” and “Kanon“.
Of course, I am most glad to see that there is also quite a bit of love for Umineko no naku koro ni characters despite the series being a real let-down…
Anyway, my predictions for ISML 2010? Well… With an extra added boost that’s not really needed thanks to a second season, Mio, will no doubt will get within the top 16. (possibly with Yui and Asuza too) I kinda expect popularity for Haruhi (the character, not the series) drop a little as a result of the infamous Endless Eight arc. Characters from CLANNAD may fall down similar to how Kanon and Air’s did, as a result of their series finishing last year. I’m not sure if that’ll happen to Rozen Maiden though… It was a surprise to many when they had their late rally last year. Shana’s popularity will remain high, and so will Nanoha. Lucky Star however… I mean seriously… are their characters really that “moe”???
As for any real “surprises” for 2010’s Saimoe? I can’t say I’m too sure, but I would love to see some Higurashi/Umineko love! <3 Rika-chama!
You would think that with all the other super-powerful phones that Japan has, people still chose the iPhone. The again, Yukarin also likes the Apps for it…
Ah… so… with school starting again… my summer holidays are over… There wasn’t enough time… Even though I had 6 weeks, those six weeks just flew right-by for me… Unlike most people, I found I was never “bored” during the holidays. I always seemed to have something to do… and time to waste… As a result, many of my “planned goals” for the Summer were not accomplished… But that’s not saying I was dissapointed with how I spent my time. In fact, far from it… One of the best holidays I’ve had I believe. And I guess I can thank it all because of Facebook… XD
Anyway, as normal, I like to do some number crunching!

So… from my “goals for Summer of 2010” post, there are many “fails”, but many “passes” too. I mean… I knew my $1000 budget was going to be blown, but how much over $1000 was a different question… To think that my most expensive item purchased was a Canon Powershot SX200 IS Camera at $340… The next “largest” purchase was a Higurashi figure of Rika made by WAVE from YesAsia at $126AUD and that is still yet to be shipped. That leaves most of the remaining money spent thanks to outings as I don’t have that much “physical” evidence of where my money has gone… Also, I was unable to break-even my earnings from work, to how much I’ve spent. My parents were willing to buy me new stuff for my room, which resulted in a new bed, bookshelf, and desk. Which I appreciate very much! I have more places to put stuff! =P
Bayden organised a night of pure-awesomeness with a Harry Potter Marathon! All the movies, to date, comfortably fit from dusk to dawn… It only being the 2nd time I’ve pulled an ‘all nighter’… He invited a fair few of us… Tehehehe… We made so many… inappropriate jokes it was funny… And lack of sleep makes your mind go a little crazier than normal… meaning that I laughed any moment where a sexual connotation could have been made… Which eventually grew… annoying… even for me… but hey, that’s what happens when I’m tired/sleep deprived. Menawhile, “Avatar” was the only “now showing” movie I was able to find the time/people to watch (with) during the holidays… I still want to watch Sherlock Holmes… The others can wait, but I would have liked to have seen them… “How I Met Your Mother” aired it’s 100th episode and I managed to see that. Nothing suits me like a suit! “The Mentalist” continued to be awesome and fun as always!
Haha… Ah… Bevan… I feel sorry for you… having to deal with my spurts of obsessiveness… I’m sorry… But even saying that… I still want to kill you… I mean… geez! I give you Nanoha and CLANNAD… With the thought that I will “be able to watch along with you” and but no… Before I find the time to start any of them, you just go and finish them!!! And then go on about it in a way that I can only feel super-ridiculously jealous like you wouldn’t believe… I’m a little too obsessive when it comes to specific anime (characters)… Once again, I was unable to cross of Code Geass off my watch list because I DON’T SEEM TO HAVE THE TIME TO! I was unable to finish neither Nanoha or CLANNAD in time for school! I was at least proud to re-watch Kanon again! ^_^ *sigh*… It’s just so… beautiful… Umineko ended so I managed to keep up with it, and with Ookami starting, I’m upto date with that thankfully… But… I wish I had as much spare time as Bevan and Martin did in regards to finding time to watch Anime…
So, yeah, with camera bought… That was really the only gadget I eneded up buying this holidays… I mean, I did buy a Cowon E2 as planned. But in terms of a netbook/laptop… That’ll be bought definitely, sometime within the next three months, in addition to a new portable media player/phone. I did manage to play around with an Archos 5 Android, as well as a ZEN X-fi2, and can I just say… that Creative… you really need to release something “good”. I can’t take the X-fi2 seriously… Even from a really cheap price point, it’s still a very mediocre piece of hardware, and it’s touchscreen is just below standard… The Archos 5 however, I was impressed with. It’s touch screen is of good standard, and since my sister is in America at the moment, I may get her to buy me one, as it’s much cheaper over there. Anyway… time will tell…
I did manage to finnally buy my one website domain name! (As you can probably tell… as long as you’re not reading this via Facebook’s notes… As for “content”… That’s still a little sketchy at the moment… I haven’t spent that much time on “content”, nor have I made a firm decision on what I’m going to use this website for… I’m sure I’ll think of something… At the moment, I’m thinking of making it a site for stuff related to Anime… but we shall see… I did manage to create one Anime Music Video over the holidays… It was more experimental than anything else… I’ll be writing a blog post about it, and I link it when I find the time to… It is an Umineko AMV by the way… and it was made in-between CES news… hence… it’s a little scrappy here and there…
Hmmm… In regards to fishing… I still want to go fishing… we didn’t really end up going fishing… but we did sort of… When we went to Cameron’s place to play poker, and when Ethan commandeered one of Cameron’s boat… We did some… “fishing” of sorts… not really… essentially, we just stuck random bits of beef-jerky or cheese-and-bacon balls to hooks, attatched to fishing wire, and then placed it in the water… Hoping that we could get a bite… =P It was a nice try…
I’m going to end my blog post here, as I pass the 1000 word mark… A lot more happened during these holidays, and I’m a little too lazy to write them here… Also, my memory is a little hazy as to where I went, and what I did… (that sounds as though I took drugs or alcohol doesn’t it? …) But those above are what I can remember off the top of my head, so… Anyway… Twas a fun holidays.
Well… yeah… okay, it’s nearing the end of January, but school hasn’t started yet for me… therefore I can still make these “New Years Resolutions” right? Well… I am… So… Whether or not these work is a matter of commitment and willpower… ?????? lolwhat??? Anyway… I have no idea what I’m saying at the moment, but I’ll continue on anyway…
2010, a new decade, and thus, an even “fresher” start. Hopefully it’ll be a year of good fun. I hope I’ve learned something from last year, that’ll make this year better. I certainly hope so, and I have a slight feeling, that 2010, is going to be a great year, probably, one of the best! =D

School-wise
– Get up everyday, with a good hour to spare before having to head off to school/work.
– Reduce time spent on computer, as I am pretty much always on from the time I get home from School, to about 10pm, minus dinner.
– Begin reading books on a sort of regular basis. I need to improve vocabulary.
— Read “Alice in Wonderland”
– Lunch will be “proper” food that’ll actually be “prepared”… If I know what I mean.
– Actually do work that I’m supposed to do…
– 90% or higher in Maths
– 80% or higher in English and ALL other subjects
– Get more involved in “challenges”

– The “Poker Club” will ‘suddenly’ disband.
