Grrr… As some of you already know, or have noticed, my blog has been under a lot of downtime. It has become rather annoying for me, as I have been unable to write a new post for a while. There have been many problems with Freehostia, and this is probably the worst yet. Many other Freehostia users have also had this problem and many are complaining… Hopefully Freehostia will have it fixed soon and quickly…
Wow, yesterday was weird… I don’t like my science teacher that much. He’s kinda over eccentric. He’s a good teacher, just, I don’t exactly like him that much. He was talking to us about a “Hand-held Pen Scanner” a few weeks ago, and how he found it very useful and that we should get one. Now, no-one’s gonna buy one, but we let him ramble on about it for about half our lesson or so. Yesterday, before school. I was having a conversation between Daniel, and then in the window, we saw him pointing at us, and asking us to come with him… Daniel and I were like “ummmm…” but we went anyway. So he led us to the science staff room, and then gave us information about this pen. He said to us “I’m only giving information about this to people who I think won’t throw it away”. *cough* I’m not going to throw it away am I? *cough* It costs about $300! I probably don’t need it…
My class is very strange… So, during history, we were to present a presentation about something in the 1920’s. I belonged in a group that were to present some information about Art Deco. Although that was not weird. What was weird and disturbing, was the group who were to present to us “The Charleston” (That wierd dance thing). So they presenteed “The Charleston” to us… It looked nothing like The Charleston, and it was absolutely… well… ummm… stupid? I won’t go into too much detail, however, when Cameron and Nick (The Squiggley Inc. Nick) were haveing a “Dance off”, they started taking off their shirts… which uh… Yeah.
Hehe, recent results in exams show that I am not that smart, hehe. I got a surprisingly high mark for my Food Tech Exam (73 out of 86) which was much higher than I expected, 2nd in class, and marking was very lenient (Malnutritiuon is not a disease, I know that, so does the teacher. But it got marked correct). History, I only got 70%, and for my Science final exam, I got a bit over 70% yet it was only one mark below the highest in my class, however, the highest mark in my class is basically the average of every other class! Heh, all my science teachers were terrible from the looks of it… Oh well. Still yet to get results from Maths and Graphics Technology…
Haha! First day of November! Only two months of the year to go, meaning we are 5/6ths the way through this year! According to Wikipedia, it is National Day in Algeria, Independence Day in Antigua and Barbuda, All Saints’ Day in Catholicism and it is World Vegan Day! Also, on this day in 1755, an earthquake measured at an estimated 9 on the Richter scale, and subsequent tsunamis almost wiped out the Portuguese Capital city of Lisbon! Heh, to me nothing else that interesting happened in History today… Speaking of earthquakes, my science teacher is weird… (not the good weird unfortunately… well, to me anyway…)
Well, glad I had my maths test over yesterday. I hope I did well. I don’t think coffee helps… Despite the fact I got marks around 90% the last two tests I’ve had coffee, It may have just been because I was able to do the questions… When I started yesterday’s test, well pretty much all of my tests, I felt rather unconfident… The caffeine in the coffee may have been “a little too much for me”? My hand kept on jitterring for the first hour of the test. It got really annoying, and it was hard to write “neat” with my already fairly messy writing. (It’s not that messy compared to other people’s) Well, when we get our results probably around 9 days time, possibly earlier, I shall see if I had beat that egotistic Will with his high confidence that he’ll beat me again… Now all I have is History and Graphics Tech! =D
You may be wondering about this post’s title… Perhaps you’re not. I don’t care… But anyway, today I had to go to a training session because I was accepted by a company to work for them. Boring time listening to OHS stuff… But anyway, when it came round to presenting the name badge stuff, they spelt my name “Rodger”. GAH! That’s not even the “common” spelling of “Roger”! Surprisingly, it happens to me quite a few times actually. I had it when I was given my name tag in kindergarten, when I want to a drawing school, when I won an award at one of my old schools, the hand written certificate thingy had my name spelt with a “d”… Grr… Don’t they know Roger Ramjet and all those cartoony things?!
Also added a how I rate stuff in the “About my Blog” section…
Well, I haven’t written anything in my blog for a while. It’s already been the first week of Term 4 here, and not much has changed… We’ve received our dates for our final exams, and I hope I do well in them. Jesse has read my blog for the first time on Thrusday(?) and he demanded that I write more about him, so I’m going to. This is a good start right Jesse? I’ve only ever mentioned his name once, throughout the history of my blog. Anything interesting to write about him? Ummm… He bought himself an Mp3 Player the other day.
It’s a 2GB Samsung S2 (the nice one that looks like a large pebble, although I prefer the Creative ZEN Stone) and he’s already been using it quite a bit.
Hahaha, good ol’ horse racing! Today is Caulfield Cup Day, which means that lots of people lose even more money today! Heh, the favourite to win this race has pretty much always been Weekend Hussler (although not anymore). He has been winning plenty of races throughout his career as a race horse, winning 3 of it’s last 5 races. Last week’s Caulfield Guineas day however, saw Weekend Hussler as the favourite to win the Turnbull Stakes, but ended up finishing 8th with Littorio winning that race, and Littorio also running again with Weekend Hussler for today’s Caulfield Cup. Anyway, my thoughts about today’s cup is that Weekend Hussler will win, and if not, then I’d say Master O’Reilly? Haha, I’m probably completely wrong, but oh well. I don’t normally go for the favourites…
Meanwhile, there have been many new shows and anime that I’ve started to watch. New seasons of Heroes and Prison Break have been rather interesting along with the new season of The Amazing Race (Pretty much the only reality TV Show that I watch/follow) and Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food. I have also been following Fringe and The Mentalist. They have been rather interesting, and Fringe has been rather similar to Lost in terms of puzzles and questions, although The Mentalist has been rather fun! I just love those crazy insane people who have amazing powers of deduction/insane theories! (Patrick Jane from The Mentalist, Dr Walter Bishop from Fringe, Daniel Faraday from Lost, L from Death Note, Dr Rodney McKay from Stargate Atlantis etc. hahaha.) I’ve almost finished Death Note, I have 5 episodes to go, while I start watching Vampire Knight Guilty, ChäoS;HEAd and seeing what all the fuss is all about with Soul Eater. Should be fun! =D
Extra stuff added about two hours after ^original time of publication:
O.o … … *is scarred* Curiosity killed the cat… again… It’s almost lost it’s nine lives… (Just watched the first 2-3 minutes of the English dub for Higurashi no naku koro ni… -_- … It was so terrible…)
Haha, and guess what I had fro breakfast? Coco Pops! Okay, so I bought Aldi Coco Pops so they are “Cocoa Puffs” rather than “Coco Pops”, but they are pretty much the same… The last time I had any form of “cereal” for breakfast like that, was like years ago… To me it’s a little weird, but at least it’s not as bad as eating McDonalds, which I hope does not happen tomorrow…
Anyway, glad that the holidays are here! The last week at school was rather uninteresting… We farewelled the Year 12’s from the school… Heh, not very exciting to me… or anyone else for that matter… Except for the Year 12’s… But anyway, we had to do an English Assessment Task, Science Test and a Presentation on Wednesday… Which was fun… Hopefully I’ll get good marks for all of them…
Not much else interesting happened, so this blog post was a little uninteresting, but oh well. Heh, what else would I write here?
Extra stuff added about two hours after ^original time of publication:
Oh, thanks a lot Thomas! Now I’m going to continue working on The Corny Paper’s site revamp! Grrr…
*Smashes head on desk a few more times*
Note: The following paragraph has a lot of sarcasm.
Well, wasn’t that fun? I’m sure all the members of my Tournament of the Minds would agree… We did so well in our presentation of our long term problem, I’m so happy! We completely kept to that four people inside the square at all times rule, none of us forgot their lines (especially not me!) and we had very smooth transitions between scenes! I think we did really well in our long term problem, and I have absolute confidence that we will be marked rather highly for it.
Sarcasm ends.
*Runs to corner to cry a little bit more after smashing head a little more*
Our Long Term problem’s content I believe was half decent, and had we got a little more time, our presentation could have been a lot better. Throughout the time given to solve the long term problem, we were rather lazy and didn’t do much. We really only started actually working one week ago, and things weren’t completely, and fully finalised until about a few minutes before our actual performance. As a result, we weren’t able to view other people’s performances… If any other group saw our performance, I’m sure they’d be laughing at us or something because, unless they were terrible too (which I would find hard to believe), our performance was so crap compared to theirs! I could go on about it for a while, but I guess I can’t be bothered, and I’m sure you get the idea…
Our spontaneous problem went really well, personally. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were scored highly for it. Our teamwork and answers were really good, and we I would believe we met most of the marking criteria very well. Our team should get a fairly high scoring for the spontaneous problem. As for whether we advance to state finals is a different matter. The long term problem performance, and how it was rather terrible, means that I doubt we’ll get into state finals. =( However, if we do move on to state, I would be absolutely shocked! I would probably be huddling into a ball and sit in the corner! Although I really wouldn’t mind going to state. *sigh* Oh well there’s always next year. My head hurts and I’m rather tired, so I think I might finish this off now. I might add more to it some other time…
Oh, and as we were preparing for the challenge, our organising teacher said “As long as you don’t procrastinate, you’ll do fine!” … … … … … Yeah… … … No procrastinating… … …
Well, I handed in my Food Tech Assignment on Friday after doing it all Thursday… I don’t expect that high of a mark, as the quality of my work was not that great and I didn’t quite answer the questions being asked, but nevertheless, I’ve got it done, and handed it in… Probably would have done something better had I spent more time on it. I also did an English Assessment at school Thursday. I’m pretty sure I kinda killed that, and so I would expect something like 8 or possibly 9 out of 15 for that thing. I got my maths test result on Friday also. I got a nice healthy 91%, so I’m happy with that =D. I procrastinated studying for that one…
I’ve been so lazy the past few days! The text above ^ was supposed to be published on Friday but I got so lazy, I just couldn’t be bothered. The weekend was fun, although it went by too quickly for me. I went to Daniel’s birthday party over the weekend. It was really fun, and I found it rather relaxing actually. I really like the night… Being near a beach, I spent some of the time just lying there, staring at the stars… It felt good, to be able to feel as though that there’s nothing wrong with your life even momentarily… It was very nostalgic… Too bad I can’t do it more often… Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to sleep on on any day of the weekend though :(…
Well, wasn’t it fun? The Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics came to a close yesterday, and now the boring TV shows return… I do look forward to new seasons of “Heroes”, “Prison Break” and “How I Met Your Mother” though. China finished on top of the medal tally by 15 gold medals over the United States. Australia finished 6th on the medal tally with 14 gold, 15 silver, and 17 bronze which makes a total of 46 medals all together. Although, if counting the tally by total medals, the US is first with 110 in total, China 2nd finishing on 100, and Australia would be placed 5th, leading Germany by 5, and behind Great Britain by 1. Now we wait for London, 2012, for the Games of the XXX Olympiad. As a result of the games being over, I change the header image back to the default one.
*sigh* Yeah, I’m procrastinating from doing my Food Tech assignment and from studying for my maths test tomorrow. I spent six hours yesterday on the computer thinking about doing my Food Tech Assignment although I ended up not even starting it. I talked to Thomas some of that time and he could tell that I was bored… I hope to get something above 90% for my maths test but at the rate I’m going in terms of studying, I may not get 80%… Although I guess it can all depend on what questions are going to be in the test, but I can’t count on that. I’ll study after dinner =D
I created my DeviantART account a few days ago and lookie at my desktop screenie! Yeah, some of my friends have kinda questioned it and Daniel is/was confused as to whether I think they are really good and I hate them. Well, to clarify for you Daniel, even though I know you’re probably not reading this and that you won’t be anytime soon, Qantas IS actually really good (according to Skytrax) BUT I dislike Qantas. Bayden, if you’re reading this, STOP SAYING QANTAS OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I KNOW THEY’RE CRAP!!!! (Hmmm… that’s a little conflicting I know…) Anyway, I look forward to submitting some various arty things on my account soon.
I’ve become rather lazy when it comes to doing things right now. I’m supposed to be doing that Food Tech thing, studying for maths, working on website re-vamp (which involves learning Dreamweaver and Flash, which I haven’t learnt that well), finish watching the remainder of the 4 of 13 episodes of “Vampire Knight” and start watching “Death Note”, (It’s taken me 40 days to watch nine episodes of “Vampire Knight”…) do some more arty stuffs, write my part of the script for that Tournaments of Minds thing, and there a quite a few more things I’m still yet to do but haven’t been bothered to do yet. That website revamp is going very slowly just to let you know… 🙁 I need to start crossing these things off my list!
Hm, a fairly late night, last night. Stayed up till 3 in the morning today to watch the Opening Ceremony for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. If I remember correctly or something, the opening ceremony was the single, most watched television event in history. Wow. It was very nicely organised and presented. I don’t quite remember other opening ceremonies, so I don’t know if this was “the best ever”. The countdown was very interesting, and was certainly different from other opening ceremonies. I imagine it would have been rather difficult to get everything working in time, and it would have taken a lot of rehearsals to get the movements correct for the opening ceremony. Heh, funny thing is, I think that the lighting of the cauldron was a few minutes after midnight… For the next 16 day, of sports in smoggy Beijing and various other venues around China. Go Australia!
Anyway, remember when I borrowed that “Learn Japanese” book thing? Well yeah, I returned that on Thursday… Hm, it’s weird, yesterday, Sam and I bought two blocks of chocolate, (they were half price…) He chose milk, I went for dark. I prefer dark, don’t like milk that much, but it has to be more than 60% cocoa otherwise it’s just weird… I stayed away from the milk and I stuck with my own dark chocolate. I don’t actually eat that much chocolate, so I, along with Sam, shared the chocolate with some of my friends… Although, Daniel ate the most of mine, (I didn’t mind), and ate quite a bit of Sam’s… Now, it was weird… After a while, Sam couldn’t remember quite a few details that happened recently… Either he was faking it (which we all know he sometimes does/we don’t believe him) or it was temporary, as after a while he could remember things again… Today, I’ve been rather forgetful, either it really was the chocolate, or that I just didn’t get much sleep last night… Oh well, I’m sure it’ll pass by…
I cut a lot of paper squares yesterday, and I’ve folded quite a number of paper cranes recently… I wonder how much longer it’ll take until I get to 1000… Hehe, also yesterday, we made “spanakopita”, which pretty much means spinach pie in Greek. There wasn’t as much onion used in this recipe so the fumes that came from all onions being cooked on the stove wasn’t as bad as that time we made tomato soup… It wasn’t that bad of a recipe actually, unlike some of the recipes we’re given, although the recipe we were given didn’t make many triangles. =( I like the flaky texture of filo pastry, and the yummy saltiness of feta cheese… I wonder if we’ll do bruschetta or something next time, which reminds me, I’ve got a food tech assignment thingy due soon…
Note that this was a post from my blog at an older location: Posted August 4 2008
With a lot of posts recently about Qantas, I thought I’d get back to posting a bit more about my daily happenings. Today is August the 4th, which means that it’s Geoffery’s Birthday today. (I’m not quite sure how is name is actually spelt because if memory serves me right, he has a weird spelling) Heh, well, Happy Birthday to him eh? (Probably the only time his name will be mentioned in this blog). Anyway, So I plan to re-cap over events that have happened in my daily life for the past week. I’ve been rather bored these days, (hence the creation and posts of my blog) and have gotten rather lazy when it comes to school work, and other planned projects such as that whole major site revamp thing.
Remember a while ago, how I was procrastinating to do that English Essay for “Touching The Void“? Well, I finally got my mark for that Essay and I got 12 out of 15. Not bad, although I heard that the highest mark in the “smart class” was like 13 or something but that’s probably because they got a harsh marker… I rarely, if ever, get above 75% for an assessment task, especially in English! What’s even more surprising (to me) is that I got 82% (if memory serves right) for a test in Science! I too, rarely, get anything higher than 80% in Science as well! Even more shocked when I recently was told that at the moment, I’ve got the highest mark in the class for another Science test! (Which I highly doubt and if it is true, then my class must be really bad at science!)
Damn those people who have no lives! Not going to mention any names here for now, but I know that some people in my school are obsessed with trying to “hack” into things, and so with these “hackers”, they’ve managed to get into Nickolas’s account on my forums. Got his password is stupid… So, partially him to blame but I’m not going to go into that that much… Heh, I’m quite surprised to find that I only have 286 paper cranes in total right now. I’m out of paper. I need to find some paper, cut them into squares, and make more paper cranes. It’s what I do when I’m bored now, fold paper cranes that is… Anyway, that’s all from me for now. Hopefully I’ll have something interesting to add tomorrow!
Note that this was a post from my blog at an older location: Posted July 1 2008
Well, t’is the first day of July, which means that we are half-way through the year! =D Wheee! Happiness! =D Although in financial terms, this is the New Financial Year, which also means, that the government takes some money off you as well! Yay! Then they’re gonna spend it on something that the majority of people don’t like, then they wished they had voted for the other guy and not realise that if they had voted for the other guy, they probably would have thought that the other guy sucks and that they should have voted for the current guy or whatever but that’s beside the point I guess…
Well, this being the first of July also means that this is my last week of Term 2 at my school. More =Ds! =D Our geography teacher seems to have run out of geography work or something for us and so he’s starting to teach us about some psychology stuffs which is supposed to help us learn our learning potential. Well, personally, I find these lessons to be quite fun and everything makes sense. Although then you learn that the truth hurts and that the bestest dreams you have never last and that you eventually won’t remember a single thing about that dream… But this whole dream thing is one of those mind-exploding things so I’m not going to get into much detail about that right now, maybe sometime later on in this blog’s life…
Gahh! Why is everyone going overseas? Daniel has basically just come back after going to Europe for five weeks or something and he flew “Etihad Airways” to get there (is pretty jealous) on an A340-500 (is more-jealous) and stayed in Abu Dhabi located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a while! (is even more jealous). Then another one of my friends, Taylor, also recently went overseas and he’s flying “Virgin Atlantic” (is sorta jealous), on an A340-600 (is jealous) and visiting random places in Europe (Don’t really care that much)… Then my Food Tech partner is also going overseas soon and he’s flying “Emirates Airlines” (is jealous), flying on (i think) and A340-600 (is more-jealous but hopes he’ll be on the flight that has a B777-300(or is it a -200?) because Airbus is so much better than Boeing, although the 777 isn’t that bad of an aircraft) and he’s got a stopover in Dubai (is extremely jealous (and a whole lot more jealous than Daniel because Dubai is better than Abu Dhabi but they’re both good) even though they’ll only be staying in the airport during their stopover) located also in the UAE and then will be heading to Europe (Who may run into Taylor I think at Paris-CDG airport if all goes to plan but I don’t really care about that).
Although I hope to BEAT THEM ALL(-ish)! If things go the way I want, in September I’ll be flying SINGAPORE AIRLINES (w00t!) on an A380-800 (EXTREME W00T!) AND a B777-200(or is it a -300?) with a stopover in SINGAPORE’S CHANGI AIRPORT(more w00t!) on my way to Shanghai (sorta-w00t) and hopefully visit the new SHANGHAI WORLD FINANCIAL CENTRE (even more w00t!)! Although right now, that plan doesn’t look that promising as my dad would rather prefer a direct flight flying most likely either “Air China” or “China Eastern Airlines” (Which are not that great, in fact last time I flew on them they were pretty terrible and Air China didn’t even give us complementary peanuts!) on an A330-200 (which I find quite boring but at least it’s an Airbus…) to Shanghai… But oh well, I guess you can’t have everything…
