Picked up a beautiful Angel a good time ago, sadly, not for me, but as a birthday present for my good friend Bevan, who also allowed me to do a small photoshoot too. And so, some of the photos and my thoughts about one of Good Smile Company’s latest figures.

Fate Testarossa… I like her name… Something about it has a nice kind of tone to it…
My first PVC figurine by ALTER. My friend Bevan already has two, and so I’m very much aware of ALTER’s amazing quality and designs. So, being one of my most loved characters, this “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha’s” “Fate Testarossa” was definitely on my “to order” list and after being delayed several times, she finally arrived in early February.
I did an initial Photoshoot a few days after arriving at Leon’s place, but wasn’t too happy with my results. So these are photos from a second photoshoot using a makeshift lightbox and some are open air with lights.

My good friend Bevan recently purchased himself his second ALTER figurine, this time, of “Little Busters”‘s “Noumi Kudryavka”, or “Kud” for short.
I was incredibly tired that day after fishing the day before, getting little sleep, having to put up with that Haruhi-kid’s voice, and playing some serious poker before attempting to do a photoshoot.

Yes, these are incredibly late, in fact, the World Expo closes on the 31st of October (tomorrow) but, better late then never? Well anyway, back in May 2010, I went and saw the Shanghai World Expo 2010 for two days, and spent half of my time there waiting in lines to enter pavilions. So, here are the photos of some of the beautiful buildings of the Expo 2010. It’s a shame most of them are being demolished/dismantled once the Expo’s over…

Okay, as promised, I’ve dumped a rather large gallery of the cosplayers for Animania 2010 in Sydney here, for you to enjoy.
I was truly gobsmacked by the amount of cosplayers and their performances this year, and just some of the elaboration of the costumes was amazing. How do you people have the time to do all that?!

So, Animania is one of three major Anime, Manga and Japanese Culture Conventions/Festivals/whateveryouwanttocallthem, with SMASH! and Supanova being the other two. Animania spans over two days at the Sydney Technology Park, this time on September 11 and 12, and also earlier in the year, in March.
So, the following photos should basically give you an idea as to what the convention was like. If you’re looking for photos of the cosplayers at the event, they’re on this separate post.

As some of you may be aware, many of you may not be, SMASH! is an anime and manga convention held annually on the first weekend of August, traditionally held at the “Roundhouse” at the University if New South Wales. But, because of such large attendance numbers last year, they moved the venue to Town Hall, as well as having it only on the Saturday, instead of the weekend.
It’s late right, now, I’m tired and junk from a busy day out… Here are some of the photos so you can get a general idea of how things were, and at the very end, I’ve included some of my general thoughts about the convention.
And, sadly, I didn’t have the guts to cosplay anything…
If you are looking for photos of cosplayers, please visit one of my other posts.

Or… “Milestone”… Outside of the US…
But “DROID” is so much cooler…

So, my friend Taylor invited me to go see the Biennale Art Festival on Cockatoo Island, and since work hadn’t rostered me on the day he planned on going, I thought I’d tag along, having not been to Cockatoo Island before, as well as to get to know my DSLR a bit more.

It’s been 6 months since I got these two figurines, and I never got round to doing a full photoshoot with them… I have used them for experimenting in my dodgy made lightbox, and the results haven’t been as great as I have been expecting. Even now, I’m finding that doing a good, plain photoshoot still hasn’t produced the kind of quality I’ve been looking for, but nevertheless, after taking hundreds of shots, here are some of the results.
I do hope to do an outdoors photoshoot and get better results sometime in the future… But time is hard to find these days.
Rika-chama~! ^.^
