Although school technically finishes on Friday, I’ve decided not to go to school for the rest of the week mainly because I’ve got my report now, and also because once at school, we won’t be doing any work so it’d be almost pointless, and also because I don’t want to see my way over eccentric science teacher again! He’s scary and all he tells us to do is write mind maps! I hope I don’t have him next year! Although, Karma or some powerful force will most likely make him my science teacher for next year… =( I’ve never really had a good science teacher before… But since school’s over for me, I’ll try and enjoy the next 6 or so weeks without school! =) Sleep! =D=D=D The rest of my blog post will be about my year’s and my report card results. So, some of you may not care about this…
Haha! My report is somewhat decent for my standards! For once I got marks above 90% for something! As expected, my mark for English isn’t that great, and neither was my History mark. Science, relatively speaking, class-wise, I didn’t do to bad… Our class’s highest mark was 85% (Daniel got that), which was the class average for most of the other classes… We had five different teachers for science this year! Heh. History was also a poor result from our class with the average being only 70%. Our school is seemingly rather not very good at Maths or English with the yearly average for those subjects round about 72%.
So what did I get? I’m sure none of you are that interested but whatever. 72% for English, (round the average, which was expected) 93% for Maths, (w00t! Good marks! =D) 78% for Science and 73% for history. What surprises me the most, are my marks for my electives! From a class of 10, the Graphics Tech average mark was 83%, and I got 95%. Food Tech theory is damn boring, but for some reason, it almost looks like I payed attention in class and I got 91% (HA! TAKE THAT FOOD TECH BUDDY NICK!). Hehehe! Well, wasn’t this year fun? Wonder how badly I’ll do next year…
Okay, my fault. I haven’t really posted something in my blog for a while. Not Freehostia’s fault this time, just me being lazy. Although thing is, apparently, I’m smart at maths. After getting results for my yearly maths test last week, I scored 91% which apparently placed my 10th in the year for that test. Should bring my yearly report mark for maths up quite a bit. Fun huh? Meanwhile, my graphics tech test result was 19 out of 20 putting my semester mark to 95, although my year mark is 88 I think, which I believe would place me 2nd in a class of 10… Eheh. Eitherway, it apparently shows that I’m smart according to Will… Hehe…
Take a look at the gingerbread house that we’re making in Food Tech now! That’s it today. I had to repair it after one of the walls fell in, which meant that I had to take the roof off in order to get that wall out, which meant I needed to do some DIY Home Improvement, and just like the show, I failed to construct it again properly… The cement icing thing (Plaster of Paris it’s called I think but I don’t know anything so whatever…) So I shall be decorating it and filling up all the holes on it with lollies and all that kind of sugary junk that makes people fat and all that… Plus using the icing to cover up the major fixable mistakes while eating a lot of it… Food Tech is so much fun…
Haha, Did you know that people from Yemen are called Yemeni? Hehe, Daniel and Thomas are heading to Hong Kong on Thursday for a week or so on some school excursion thing. They’re flying QANTAS! Muahahahahahahehehehe! Well, at least they get a little taste of Qantas on an overseas flight. Grrr… I want to go to Hong Kong. They get to see the supposedly awesome new (relatively speaking) Chap Lap Kok Airport with all the planes and the plane shaped terminal. They also go to Disneyland and across the Harbour to the city of Macau. They also get to see all the awesome skyscrapers that line Hong Kong… Everyone seems to have gone on holidays some time or another! Nick (Not the Food Tech or Squiggley one) just came back from a trip round Europe, Thomas also went on holidays to Thailand recently, Daniel has been to Europe earlier in the year, then he’ll be spending next year in Germany. There are other people who I know are going on holidays some time soon as well but I can’t be bothered to list them… Grr…
Grrr… As some of you already know, or have noticed, my blog has been under a lot of downtime. It has become rather annoying for me, as I have been unable to write a new post for a while. There have been many problems with Freehostia, and this is probably the worst yet. Many other Freehostia users have also had this problem and many are complaining… Hopefully Freehostia will have it fixed soon and quickly…
Wow, yesterday was weird… I don’t like my science teacher that much. He’s kinda over eccentric. He’s a good teacher, just, I don’t exactly like him that much. He was talking to us about a “Hand-held Pen Scanner” a few weeks ago, and how he found it very useful and that we should get one. Now, no-one’s gonna buy one, but we let him ramble on about it for about half our lesson or so. Yesterday, before school. I was having a conversation between Daniel, and then in the window, we saw him pointing at us, and asking us to come with him… Daniel and I were like “ummmm…” but we went anyway. So he led us to the science staff room, and then gave us information about this pen. He said to us “I’m only giving information about this to people who I think won’t throw it away”. *cough* I’m not going to throw it away am I? *cough* It costs about $300! I probably don’t need it…
My class is very strange… So, during history, we were to present a presentation about something in the 1920’s. I belonged in a group that were to present some information about Art Deco. Although that was not weird. What was weird and disturbing, was the group who were to present to us “The Charleston” (That wierd dance thing). So they presenteed “The Charleston” to us… It looked nothing like The Charleston, and it was absolutely… well… ummm… stupid? I won’t go into too much detail, however, when Cameron and Nick (The Squiggley Inc. Nick) were haveing a “Dance off”, they started taking off their shirts… which uh… Yeah.
Hehe, recent results in exams show that I am not that smart, hehe. I got a surprisingly high mark for my Food Tech Exam (73 out of 86) which was much higher than I expected, 2nd in class, and marking was very lenient (Malnutritiuon is not a disease, I know that, so does the teacher. But it got marked correct). History, I only got 70%, and for my Science final exam, I got a bit over 70% yet it was only one mark below the highest in my class, however, the highest mark in my class is basically the average of every other class! Heh, all my science teachers were terrible from the looks of it… Oh well. Still yet to get results from Maths and Graphics Technology…
Haha! First day of November! Only two months of the year to go, meaning we are 5/6ths the way through this year! According to Wikipedia, it is National Day in Algeria, Independence Day in Antigua and Barbuda, All Saints’ Day in Catholicism and it is World Vegan Day! Also, on this day in 1755, an earthquake measured at an estimated 9 on the Richter scale, and subsequent tsunamis almost wiped out the Portuguese Capital city of Lisbon! Heh, to me nothing else that interesting happened in History today… Speaking of earthquakes, my science teacher is weird… (not the good weird unfortunately… well, to me anyway…)
Well, glad I had my maths test over yesterday. I hope I did well. I don’t think coffee helps… Despite the fact I got marks around 90% the last two tests I’ve had coffee, It may have just been because I was able to do the questions… When I started yesterday’s test, well pretty much all of my tests, I felt rather unconfident… The caffeine in the coffee may have been “a little too much for me”? My hand kept on jitterring for the first hour of the test. It got really annoying, and it was hard to write “neat” with my already fairly messy writing. (It’s not that messy compared to other people’s) Well, when we get our results probably around 9 days time, possibly earlier, I shall see if I had beat that egotistic Will with his high confidence that he’ll beat me again… Now all I have is History and Graphics Tech! =D
You may be wondering about this post’s title… Perhaps you’re not. I don’t care… But anyway, today I had to go to a training session because I was accepted by a company to work for them. Boring time listening to OHS stuff… But anyway, when it came round to presenting the name badge stuff, they spelt my name “Rodger”. GAH! That’s not even the “common” spelling of “Roger”! Surprisingly, it happens to me quite a few times actually. I had it when I was given my name tag in kindergarten, when I want to a drawing school, when I won an award at one of my old schools, the hand written certificate thingy had my name spelt with a “d”… Grr… Don’t they know Roger Ramjet and all those cartoony things?!
Also added a how I rate stuff in the “About my Blog” section…
So, today was my Food Tech Yearly Exam… Eheh. Yeah… I’m sure I’ll get at least 70% for it… Although if it is higher than 70%, its not much higher… Anyway, I’ve got my Science Yearly Exam tomorrow… I’m not going to do well in that… I’ll probably be spending tonight studying for it, and tomorrow morning through first period as I have already done all the work for Graphics Tech. That time should help me a bit hopefully… After that, tomorrow, I’ll be spending quite a bit of my time doing maths study for my yearly exam on Friday… 😥 I want to do really well in maths this year, which means study… Fun fun… Not much else to write about I think… Well, for now at least. I leave you today with a plane that gets totally pwned, another plane crash that just seems impossible that you have to feel sorry for those on board, and that poor B-52 bomber at an airshow… All videos from Youtube!
The first of September eh? The beginning of Spring which means it’s Wattle Day here in Australia. Also means that we’re two thirds of the way through the year… For where I am, it was a nice start to the day, with a kinda cold, but comfortable temperature in the morning and a nice, wintery-spring temperature during most of the day. =D On this day, 25 years ago, the controversial events of the shoot down of Korean Air Flight 007 by Soviet Interceptors occurred. It is also the day of which the Shanghai World Financial Center officially opens! Currently the 2nd tallest completed building, but with the highest observation deck in the world, with a view of the city of Shanghai from a height of 472 metres! Hurricane Gustav is forecast to hit the coastline near New Orleans tomorrow morning as well! (Midday September 1 New Orleans time)!
Now, here’s a few strange things. If you’ve been reading my blog for the past few weeks or whatever, I had been procrastinating my Food Tech Assignment for a long time, and I had only started it the night before the due date. I expected a rather terrible mark that would give me not a very good mark for Food Tech this semester. Shockingly, I got a healthy 90% for my assessment. Along with my maths test, I also got a healthy 91% for that, despite my lack of study which to me is very odd.
Although, despite all my seemingly good marks for recent tests and assessments, things have returned to normal in science despite topping my class in two recent assessments earlier. I got an alright mark of 77.5%, which being a bit above my normal science mark, is a sign that my results are starting to return to normal. =D And, as expected, we didn’t make it to state finals for Tournament of Minds… Hopefully we find out how badly we actually performed tomorrow… Well, there’s always next year… (?) I’ve been playing around with photoshop recently… Been trying to do some “art” and I hope to have it completed sometime this week, although, taking into account my procrastination, it’ll probably be completed a lot later… If only I could get the face right… especially the eyes…
Note that this was a post from my blog at an older location: Posted June 24 2008
Well, on the weekend, I went to Sam’s place for his birthday (those who know me should know where he lives and so therefore the reason of the title) along with another two people known to me as Coby and Julian. Anyway, none of us got much sleep that night… In fact, Sam was the one to get the most sleep and got more than Julian, Coby and I combined got… That was fun… We spent most of the time playing “Grand Theft Auto IV” and crashing cars and helicopters and stuff…
I got my half-yearly report on Friday, and all of my marks were above average but they still were pretty terrible… Which reminds me, I have an English Assessment task thing due next week that I’ve just started to do and I have a science sheet thingy due soon as well… My Science Major Assignment mark was not that great either. Daniel kinda beat me by over 32% or something. I only did it pretty much the night before it was due so I guess I deserved it… Looks like I should be doing better in science if I actually tried doing stuff… Along with other work…
Hm, Tournaments of the Minds… Something that I’ve done twice in previous years, which means that this’ll be my 3rd Tournaments of the Minds thing… We got a fun 80 or something page instruction manual thing which I’m probably not going to read anytime soon but you never know. Should be fun huh? Well, it was fun the previous two times…
