Physics I – 23.04.2010

A typical school day, where nothing truly eventful happened… Except for our physics lesson!

A big beaker full of water, with our teacher’s watch in it. (Showing refraction trickies)

OMG IT’S A STRAIGHT LINE! (Snell’s Law)

I had faith in our teacher, and that what he does was always true… but HE LIES! HE LIES I TELL YOU! (The glass disc holding the water in the jar is rather obvious with a 12x optical zoom camera)

*shakes fist at Freehostia*

Grrr… As some of you already know, or have noticed, my blog has been under a lot of downtime. It has become rather annoying for me, as I have been unable to write a new post for a while. There have been many problems with Freehostia, and this is probably the worst yet. Many other Freehostia users have also had this problem and many are complaining… Hopefully Freehostia will have it fixed soon and quickly…

Wow, yesterday was weird… I don’t like my science teacher that much. He’s kinda over eccentric. He’s a good teacher, just, I don’t exactly like him that much. He was talking to us about a “Hand-held Pen Scanner” a few weeks ago, and how he found it very useful and that we should get one. Now, no-one’s gonna buy one, but we let him ramble on about it for about half our lesson or so. Yesterday, before school. I was having a conversation between Daniel, and then in the window, we saw him pointing at us, and asking us to come with him… Daniel and I were like “ummmm…” but we went anyway. So he led us to the science staff room, and then gave us information about this pen. He said to us “I’m only giving information about this to people who I think won’t throw it away”. *cough* I’m not going to throw it away am I? *cough* It costs about $300! I probably don’t need it…

My class is very strange… So, during history, we were to present a presentation about something in the 1920’s. I belonged in a group that were to present some information about Art Deco. Although that was not weird. What was weird and disturbing, was the group who were to present to us “The Charleston” (That wierd dance thing). So they presenteed “The Charleston” to us… It looked nothing like The Charleston, and it was absolutely… well… ummm… stupid? I won’t go into too much detail, however, when Cameron and Nick (The Squiggley Inc. Nick) were haveing a “Dance off”, they started taking off their shirts… which uh… Yeah.

Hehe, recent results in exams show that I am not that smart, hehe. I got a surprisingly high mark for my Food Tech Exam (73 out of 86) which was much higher than I expected, 2nd in class, and marking was very lenient (Malnutritiuon is not a disease, I know that, so does the teacher. But it got marked correct). History, I only got 70%, and for my Science final exam, I got a bit over 70% yet it was only one mark below the highest in my class, however, the highest mark in my class is basically the average of every other class! Heh, all my science teachers were terrible from the looks of it… Oh well. Still yet to get results from Maths and Graphics Technology…

“Ahoy!” is NOT MY word!

Yes, Bayden, I know you’ll be reading this soon either a few minutes after I’ve posted this, or tomorrow morning but the point is, I know you’ll be reading this sometime or later. Since you are going to read this, I’m here to say that “Ahoy!” IS NOT MY WORD. It was just something that kinda caught on to me, I started saying it and it became a habit. Which somehow resulted in, well, what you know now Bayden! Along with the rest of you who believe that “Ahoy!” is my word and that IT IS NOT! Anyway, enough about that, time to get on with that “interesting” post…

Heh, looks like my science teacher was right. I did top my class in that science test mentioned yesterday and it is freaky! I got 95% in that test although most people in that test got marks between 80 and 90% so I imagine that it wasn’t that hard, and that I just got lucky. So maybe my class is bad at science or something but who knows… I guess that’s just how it is. Jesse finally got an instant messenger although I never really pestered him to get it and I don’t think I’ve ever really implied him to get it, but good now, he has. (I don’t believe that was quite grammatically correct but anyway)

Anyway, I think I’ll right a little more about Bayden, see his reaction to what I wrote. (Mainly because I’m not quite sure what else to write just yet…) HAHA! YOUR SHORT BAYDEN! Yeah, Bayden has recently been visiting my blog and he copies what I’ve written onto his “Blackberry”. It’s weird and kinda disturbing in someways that he does but anyway, that’s not important. Well, I shall see you tomorrow Bayden and I can’t wait to hear/see your reaction to this post. (In no ways do I deliberately mean to insult you or something… yeah…) Yeah, I’ll write something probably a little more productive next time or something…

Funness in a hole!

Well, on the weekend, I went to Sam’s place for his birthday (those who know me should know where he lives and so therefore the reason of the title) along with another two people known to me as Coby and Julian. Anyway, none of us got much sleep that night… In fact, Sam was the one to get the most sleep and got more than Julian, Coby and I combined got… That was fun… We spent most of the time playing “Grand Theft Auto IV” and crashing cars and helicopters and stuff…

I got my half-yearly report on Friday, and all of my marks were above average but they still were pretty terrible… Which reminds me, I have an English Assessment task thing due next week that I’ve just started to do and I have a science sheet thingy due soon as well… My Science Major Assignment mark was not that great either. Daniel kinda beat me by over 32% or something. I only did it pretty much the night before it was due so I guess I deserved it… Looks like I should be doing better in science if I actually tried doing stuff… Along with other work…

Hm, Tournaments of the Minds… Something that I’ve done twice in previous years, which means that this’ll be my 3rd Tournaments of the Minds thing… We got a fun 80 or something page instruction manual thing which I’m probably not going to read anytime soon but you never know. Should be fun huh? Well, it was fun the previous two times…

Oh I am terrible!

Hehehe… Well, as you may have known after reading what I posted yesterday that I had a science test thingy today… Well, I don’t think I did too well in it and Daniel said he probably didn’t do too well in it either but still… That science test seemed to ask us questions about things that we haven’t learned about yet(?). Or it was just our stupidity that was making us think that… What a waste of $3.70 for a Flat White when it didn’t do me any good… But at least it tasted alright… Well, the results of that should be interesting, along with us getting our half-yearly reports on Friday…

I find it very strange that I had not found this nifty tool in Photoshop earlier… Previously, I have had much frustration and trouble when it comes to text and co-ordinating them to match the image (stand out or fade in the background etc.). Then I came across this tutorial telling me about stroke and inner glow and all that stuff, and so I found out that I am a total amateur at Photoshop! To get better text effects, all I had to do (instead of changing the background and font colours and types etc. just to get text to stand out) was right click on the text layer, and select blending options! Okay, now to me, this just showed me how terrible I am at Photoshop and how little I know about it… Think about how many more “obvious” features of Photoshop/Flash/anything else I could be forgetting/don’t know about/don’t know how to use etc…

Well, tomorrow’s Thursday and I have a few boring subjects at school tomorrow… Fun fun… Probably won’t post anything tomorrow depending on how lazy I am… I’m very lazy when it comes to my website as I haven’t really added anything new for a while… Should make a new comic… and add new “news”… and finish up my new design of the Worst Airlines thingy… and create usergroups thingies for The Corny Paper Boards, and upload the newest episode of The Random Show… and do that English assessment task thing too… There’s probably a whole lot of other things I should be doing but oh well… Can’t be bothered to list them I guess…

Finally!

Well, it took some time and I feel rather stupid after I had a lot of trouble trying to install this into Freehostia and Thomas told me that there was an easy install thing provided by Freehostia or something… Well, at least I now have this (hopefully) fully installed for my website! Now people who can be bothered to read this will find out how (much more in some cases) stupid I am/can be!

Yes I like confusing people and a lot of the times, I confuse them unintentionally… But anyway, I have a Science test tomorrow, a chemistry topic… Acids and Bases… Well it should be fun. I should study for it and I think I will once I have finished writing this… Our school’s athletics carnival was supposed to be tomorrow, but thanks to the weather, our carnival was canceled and so I have to do ten pin bowling again just like I have done for the last… 10(?) weeks… Should be fun…

Well, since I do Food Tech as a subject for school, (if you didn’t know already…) we had a prac today and we were to make a “pineapple up-side down cake” thingy… So, working with my friend Nick (not the Squiggley Inc. one…), and another friend of mine known as Alex, made a very… umm… well… cake thing. It was better than doing theory for Food Tech. as Food Tech. theory is terribly boring… Well, most of my friends liked the cake… I think… but anyway, should study for science thingy!
