Summer Holidays – 16.12-13.01.2011

These ‘holdiays’ or ‘breaks’ are supposed to be relaxing right? Well… I’m incredibly tired at the moment… I’d say it’s because I’ve been doing too many things/going out too much, but I’d imagine there are quite a few of you out there who have done a lot more than I have and probably still have a lot more energy than I do.

First day of the holidays, and absolutely nothing went to plan that day. Trains were delayed due to an electrical storm, blew our lunch budget going sushi train-ing (as almost always with me XD), saw a much later session of “Tron” than what we were hoping for, and couldn’t refund a $2400 laptop because there was a clearly not new ‘mark’ on it despite us having never opened it before… Ah well.

New Years Eve I was invited to a friend of mine’s place to have a movie marathon and to see some fireworks along “The Broad Water”, also known as Gosford’s Waterfront. But first, I payed a trip to Leon’s. *pets Alfie*

Thought we may as well do some work for our school Yearbook. Here’s Leon creating a personal panel for one of our students at our school.

Fireflowers. A little dissapointed at Gosford City Council for their one-barge fireworks display, but hey, it had been years since I last saw a live fireworks display.

More recently, my good friend Ben invited some of us to go “fishing”.

I myself have never been fishing, it was a new experience for me…

Bevan manages to hook one… four actually. Ben managed to hook four, and Martin hooked one. Leon, Ethan, Cameron, Jesse and I didn’t manage to hook any. =(

By the time we got back to Ben, we needed some serious aloe vera to treat some damage caused by Mr Sunbeam.

I got to play around with Jesse’s brand new Creative Zen X-fi Style. It’s a little smaller than the original Zen X-fi, but it does feel a little cheaper than the X-fi does. I was also a little disappointed with the player’s viewing angles.

Other than that, generally the Zen Style is very similar to the original ZEN and ZEN X-fi’s released back in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

Weather here in New South Wales has been rather rainy (though, nothing compared to Queensland), and generally, not very Summery…

Went to Bevan’s (well, I asked if I/we could go to Bevan’s) to play some serious poker.

But I really just wanted to see Nanoha again. =P

It’s also nice to see Bevan’s updated room. Nice Angel Beat’s wall scroll. =)

And took a look at Bevan’s newest little figure, which I’ll be uploading a few more photos of later.

Back home, my balcony has recently been getting a lot of visits by this duck…

I finally opened my Nanoha Puchi Nendoroids that arrived back in October last year…

Though… I discovered that my Arf Nendoroid is missing an arm… Not much I can do about that…

My first package(s) of 2011 arrived on the 10th! From AmiAmi of course. =)

Inside – “Black Rock Shooter Phenomenon”, “Nana Star” (an Oricon special magazine about Nana Mizuki), and the two most recent, and final singles from the all-girls band from the anime, “Angel Beats!”. “Last Song” and “Ichiban no takaramono ~Yui final ver.~” by Girls Dead Monster. (I also got a second box of Nanoha Petit Nendoroids =P)

The first page of the “Nana Star” magazine, a nice, shiny advertisement for the Nanoha movie! =D (Which I finally saw along with the Haruhi movie yesterday with a my Anime watching friends, hence the 15 empty bottles of Ramune at the start of this post… My thoughts about the movies will be in a later post)

And finally, I leave you with a little peek into what was in the magazine.

<3 Nana-chan!

      Hey Jeff!

I believe “Last Song” and “Ichiban no takaramono ~Yui final ver.~” were limited pressing cds released almost a year ago… I’ve checked around a number of sites for stock, but most of them have them as ‘Out of Print’. You can always try YesAsia, but they’re pricey, and there’s no guarantee of stock.
