Busy busy busy weeks… The last few days of January was a busy time for me, and the start of school marking the beginning of what is going to be an incredibly busy and stressful year.

The weather during the end of January and the beginning of February was incredibly hot, with temperatures here in Sydney above 30 degrees celcius for over a week, with some days peeking into the 40s. The weather is much better now, cooler and 25.
So, on the 21st of Jan, I brought a number of my friends down to the City to go do some heart-warming karaoke!
Took them down to “Mizuya”, a relatively new and modern looking Japanese Karaoke Restaurant Bar, located on George Street opposite the Cinemas.
They have a pretty good deal during lunch time… As long as each person spends $20 or more on food, two hours of karaoke is free. And with $12 of us in one room, $240 of food is quite a bit…
Later that day, went up to the Opera House and found the artwork known as “Mirazozo”
“Built in 2010, Mirazozo makes extensive use of an ‘illuminated seam’ feature where luminous seam lines create a scintillating lattice of light.”
An interesting structure, that changes the colour of natural sunlight into trippy stuff that messes with your mind when you enter.
Went over to Leon’s along with Bevan and Martin to go do some hardcore study in preparation for school. Did a whole three questions!!
I got to see Leon’s updated room/desk.
Went over to one of my friend Jess’s place, to have an “Asian Day” were we played Mah Jong and eat asian food and talk asian and stuff… Too bad for me that everyone was Cantonese and I’m the only person with mainland China origins…
Went to visit this Japanese restaurant called “Shimbashi” over in Neutral Bay with my sister. She’s location scouting, as one of her friends from America is paying the land down under a visit.
Some incredibly yummy Tuna Tataki.
Although they specialise in Soba, we both decided to try their Okonomi-yaki (Japanese pancake) Mine contained squid, mochi and some other stuff I don’t quite remember.
My sister’s was their in-house special. Contained squid, pork belly, prawn, scallop and your normal okonomi-yaki ingredients..
I didn’t do much during Chinese New Year. Just visited the markets in Belmore Park near Central Station…
… and followed the dragons and firecrackers through Chinatown and Market City.
Returning to school and already into doing serious work.
My sister bought herself a camera! A Canon Powershot S95. (Jealous) I’ve heard that it’s an amazing compact digital, yet to really play around with it.
Ran over to Leon’s place to open my most recent puchase from AmiAmi, as well as to see his bad-ass Hitagi figure in person. Photos will be posted later.
