Spring Anime of 2010 – Expectations

So, the Winter season of anime is nearly over, and so, it’s time for some new life, and so comes along spring… I really didn’t follow many anime during Winter… In fact, I’ve only been watching Ookami Kakushi which hasn’t been of normal Ryukishi standard… (Well… Higurashi that is…) It hasn’t been bad… It’s actually been pretty good, but not as good as I had hoped it’ll be, but it’s definitely gaining some momentum. And the Hassaku commercial is certainly catchy! I’m also still yet to catch up on Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which I haven’t seen from episode 35 onwards… It’s not a bad line-up this season, and there are many high expectations from a number of Anime, most notably the super-powerhouse that is KyoAni and their mind-blowingly popular “K-On!”…

So, here’s a small list of the two anime I probably will end up falling behind with somehow…:

Angel Beats!
Another Key/Visual Arts adaptionm however, not being animated by KyoAni, but with P.A. Works, known for producing “True Tears”. Jun Maeda’s genius mind that created the tear-jerking moe-ness of Kanon and Clannad, brings us something different from the looks of things… It’s a little difficult so picture what the series is really about, but I’m curious nonetheless. Something about ‘a world after death’ and ‘fighting for their future’… It’s not a stellar cast line-up, but an “all star line-up” doesn’t always mean it’s going to be an excellent series… (Umineko was kinda proof of that…) 13 episodes, should be easy enough to follow.

Black★Rock Shooter
Yeah, so what has somehow become a franchise of relatively big size, Black Rock Shooter is an anime adaption by a Vocaloid song? Or an image? Or something? I dunno, but whatever it is, it looks cool, and it sounds cool as well! There isn’t actually much detail about it, and I’m not even sure if it really will begin this season. But I mean, hey, if it’s on Chartfag’s Anime list, then I’d assume it is…

and most importantly…

K-On! – Season 2
Haha, funny joke.
