Hrmm… So ummm… I’ve known about Dannychoo for a while now, but I never took the time to find out who he was or anything… But I visited the website just earlier and I was in awe at his photos…. Especially his ‘desk diary‘! It is insane… and I am uber-jealous of this guy… Figurines, Merch, Tech and Uber-awesome cameras?!?! And he gets paid for all that stuff! He really made me feel that anytime I got something in a package was almost inadequate or something… It sunk my heart to know that he has all that pure awesome-ness… But enough about Dannychoo… I’ll just celebrate what I can afford then…

So, I’ve got the just released Higurashi complete guide book, a commemorative 10th anniversary mug for Key’s 10th anniversary, this one featuring Clannad’s Nagisa Furukawa, and the scorpion bracelet charm of Maria’s that was featured in Umineko no naku koro ni.

I can sleep easy at night now… for now I have protection from The Golden Witch! There’s no chance of her entering my room when my door is closed! If I suddenly see Golden Butterflies appear, I know where I’m going!

Below are some thumbnail photographs of a few pages of the Higurashi guidebook… It’s basically a full series wrap-up book, briefly detailing the episodes and characters, and what I would believe to be, interesting interviews with the creators, voice actors etc. Similar to the dedicated illustrations book, and the first season’s guidebook, there’s quite a fair amount of fanservice… Which continues to annoy me. It makes me hesitate buying the Rei guidebook mainly because so many of the illustrations of the fan-service nature… The series isn’t about under-age ecchi, incest or a musical rock band! The artwork from Higurashi Kai is much more of what I’m looking for. Why can’t I get beautiful, high quality profile-ing pictures? Or nice, glossy series relevant images?!? I’d LOVE a giant wall scroll with Rika and Hanyuu, with the moon background (the artwork for the ED of Higurashi Kai). Instead, I’m seeing the same old sometimes low quality images in each guiedbook over and over again…

Do note that I will not be scanning the artbooks, but if you are looking for some of the images found in these artbooks, I suggest that you look elsewhere, such as The Anime Gallery or possibly download the artbooks yourself from BakaBT‘s private trackers, but there is so much more delight in having the shiny, glossy and somewhat heavy artbooks in real life.
