So, it was recently my good friend Leon‘s Birthday, and so today Leon, Shannon, Nick and I went down to Darling Harbour to go eat some foods from a place we normally wouldn’t eat at ‘cos we’re poor and stuff… =D
But a few days ago, I baked him a chokoreeto keeki desu!
The most important part of the cake.
I was rather concerned when the centre of the cake began to sink… O_o… Did I just create a black hole?!
But luckily it didn’t drop any more below that… And the cake turned out alright despite making most of it from scratch…
Darling Harbour is a popular tourist site for Sydney, and is kind of one our “gems” with a lot of high-class restaurants, and is commonly used to host special events, such as the recent “2010 FIFA World Cup”. It is also a central venue for the “Sydney Festival”, and with the Exhibition Centre located on the same precinct, the “Australian International Motor Show” is held here, as well as the “Good Food and Wine Show”.
Currently, where the old “SEGA World” used to be, they’re constructing a new site called “Darling Walk”, which aims to be Sydney’s newest, and most modern tourist hot-spot, with all new parks, fountains and as well as a new location for the Commonwealth Bank Headquarters I think?
The construction site is a bit of a concern for me/us at the moment, as I planned on holding my birthday party here, but am concerned that we aren’t allowed to use the formerly public oval before construction started.

Leon is the picture of class.
What a nice, kind, and caring kid Leon is. =)
Tried taking a photo of an ice cube that fell out of a jug of Lemon and Lime bitters…
We went to one of the many restaurants along the “Harbourside” side of Darling Harbour, to “Waterfront Grill”. I ordered one of their Daily Specials – “Prawns and Softshell Crab on a Thai Noodle Salad” It was very yum-yum, although a little light… Wasn’t enough for a big man like me, but nevertheless worth the price in my opinion. =D
Leon and Shannon both ordered a nice hunk of meat. =D Cooked medium of course, it was very nice and meaty.
A ‘toufu’ that I got for Leon.
Afterwards, I payed a trip to “Chatime” one of the newer asian drink franchises to invade Australia. Personally, better than Easy Way. =P

Payed a trip to Billy Hyde/Allen’s Music in Surry Hills, where they specialise in drum kit stuffs. Lots and lots of shiny and expensive cymbals. In some ways, I wished I was a musician, but I’m afraid it’s not exactly a talent for me, and I’m far from a fast learner…
Then, as Nick had to leave, I dragged Leon and Shannon far away just for me to get a cup of “Toby’s Estate” Coffee, which is supposed to be really good. I ordered a flat white, but I was a little disappointed…
And to finish off, a photo that Leon took of a small not-as-yummy-as-I-hoped cheesecake, which turned out really nice! (Had I not eaten it, it probably would have been better =P)
おたんじょうびおめでとう リオン-くん!
🙂 yay rogerr!
I’m stealing that cymbals picture. It’s sexy. Ohmygawdohmygawdohmygawd.
And a great day 😀
